Allegheny County, PA – State Sen. Nick Pisciottano (D-Allegheny) announced that the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), chaired by Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, has approved $5,333,957 in grant funding to support victims, strengthen public safety, and prevent violence.
The funding, awarded through the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), will support organizations providing counseling, shelter, advocacy, legal assistance, and other services to victims and survivors.
“I’m grateful for the work these organizations do across our region and happy to see these federal resources coming to Allegheny County,” said Senator Pisciottano.
The following organizations serving Allegheny County were awarded funding:
- Center for Victims – $1,219,231 in VOCA Funds
- Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh – $1,114,319 in VOCA Funds
- Pittsburgh Action Against Rape – $956,074 in VOCA Funds for sexual assault and trafficked victims
- Neighborhood Legal Services Association – $567,502 in VOCA Funds for Legal Aid for domestic violence survivors and crime victims
- Alle-Kiski Area Hope Center – $469,167 in VOCA Funds
- Crisis Center North – $452,307 in VOCA Funds for core and mobile counseling services
- Allegheny County Chief Executive Officer – $201,186 in VOCA Funds
- Allegheny County Chief Executive Officer – $194,297 in State Act 80 Funds for quality, training, and efficiency enhancements
- A Child’s Place PA – $154,571 in VOCA Funds
- CASA of Allegheny County – $5,303 in VOCA Funds for training of CASA volunteers
