Harrisburg, PA – State Senator Nick Pisciottano (D-Allegheny) announced today that $1,344,233 in funding has been approved for organizations serving Allegheny County through programs administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), chaired by Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis.
The awards will support violence prevention initiatives, substance abuse prevention programs, victim services, child advocacy efforts, and community-based interventions designed to improve public safety and strengthen support systems for vulnerable individuals and families.
“These investments will help local organizations continue their work to prevent violence, support victims, reduce substance abuse, and create safer communities,” Senator Pisciottano said. “By funding these community-based solutions, we can address challenges before they escalate and ensure residents have access to the resources and support they need.”
Approved awards include:
- Amachi Pittsburgh – $250,000 for YJAB 2.0 at Amachi Pittsburgh
- Pittsburgh Community Services, Inc. – $249,644 for the PCSI Roadmap for At-Risk Youth and Their Families
- University of Pittsburgh – $249,999 for Restorative Capacity Building at Northgate
- Adagio Health, Inc. – $200,000 to expand access to substance abuse prevention services
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania – $195,936 for the BGCWPA Future Ready Substance Abuse Prevention Program
- A Child’s Place – $98,654 for forensic medical exam staffing
- Center for Victims – $100,000 for child advocacy services at UPMC Children’s Hospital
The funding was approved by PCCD through state and federal grant programs supporting violence prevention, substance abuse education, victim services, behavioral health initiatives, and public safety improvements across the Commonwealth.
