Monroeville, PA – State Senator Nick Pisciottano today announced more than $800,000 in state funding for parks, recreation, and conservation initiatives benefiting Allegheny County through the Community Conservation Partnership Program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
The awards include:
- $342,700 to West Homestead for the development of West Homestead Park
- $92,800 to Friends of the Riverfront, Inc. for Phase 2 development of Eagle’s Landing Riverfront Park in Baldwin Borough
- $35,000 to North Braddock to develop a comprehensive recreation, park and open space plan
- $95,000 to Pittsburgh Conservation Corps for an Allegheny County workforce development and wood reuse initiative through DCNR’s Urban and Community Forestry program
- $250,000 to Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for an Urban and Community Forestry initiative serving Pittsburgh and communities throughout Western Pennsylvania
“These investments will help our communities improve parks and public spaces, expand recreational opportunities, strengthen conservation efforts, and plan for the future,” Senator Pisciottano said. “I’m pleased to see these state resources supporting projects that will improve quality of life in our communities and across Western Pennsylvania.”
